Sometimes people develop medical problems which make it impossible for them to take care of their own daily living needs, such as dressing, meal preparation, and bathing. Hiring someone to help with personal care needs is one way these people can remain living at home. The Personal Care Screening Program assists family members with hiring a personal care attendant (PCA) to help their loved ones with daily living needs. PCAs either live with the person or are scheduled to come to the home at specific times.

Families requesting assistance are interviewed by Senior Solutions professional staff to aid them in matching the most appropriate PCA to each situation. After the interview, families receive a PCA information packet which includes personal profiles of screened PCAs, an employment contract, and current tax and Social Security information.

A fee is charged to assist with costs of the program. For more details about the Personal Care Screening Program, click here.
