INFORMATION & SUPPORT SERVICES: With one phone call to Senior Solutions Information & Support Services, callers can obtain information about agencies, organizations and other resources that can help meet their needs. Referrals provided to seniors and their families include information about in-home help and information about agencies, organizations and other resources that can help meet their needs.
BOISE SENIOR CENTER: A meeting place where seniors can participate in activities and services, including noon meals, health education and screenings, exercise classes, dances, art classes, card games, bingo, foot clinics, computer classes, legal counsel and a driver-refresher course. ECHO Telephone Reassurance: Through this telephone reassurance program, volunteers call homebound and/or disabled elderly individuals each weekday morning to assure their safety and well being. For more details about the ECHO program, click on ECHO.pdf at the bottom of this page.
BOISE CITY SCRIP: This subsidized taxi program is for disabled persons whose disability inhibits their ability to drive. Participants must live in the Boise City limits and may purchase coupons for discounted taxi rides. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: Volunteers provide services to many of our elderly clients. Volunteer positions include ECHO telephone reassurance caller, grocery shopping, minor repair work, transportation, and friendly visiting. Volunteers also provide services at the Boise Senior Activities Center, including working as receptionists, leading classes, providing office support, preparing bulk mailings and assisting in the thrift store and craft shop.
